I am proud to be an American and a New Yorker (now Virginia transplant), but I am not proud of what other countries feel about us. They have a lot of misconceptions on what an American is... of course there are people who fit their stereotypes (couch potatoes, violent, fast food eating, rude, short attention spans, that we all love and support George Bush) but not all of us are like that.

Even though I live in another country, I chose to leave the states and live in the UK, I am still proud to be an American. I am proud to be me no matter what and the fact is, I am an American. So there.

I'm 100% proud of being a New Yorker and an American. (ETA, I am now a NJ transplant of course! LOL)
I'm so glad I live in a country where we can make up our own minds and agree to disagree. It's what makes this country so great.
