Most of my friends have kids or are pregnant, so we try to head out by 8 the latest and lately we're home between 11-12.
Before kids we were lucky if we got out the door by 10 and home by 2 or 3.

i am going out tonight because my friend is leaving in a few days for a month and this is our last time to hang out before she goes.
i INVITED DH... whether or not he chooses to come is up to him. if he does come i knwo we'll be out all night.
if he doesnt then he will get mad at me if i come home too late (in his eyes)

dont take this the wrong way but maybe you guys should have waited a tad longer before getting married
its a huge deal this marriage stuff and if my DH came home at 5am your damn right I would be ******, we dont do that stuff, but then again thats our house

Well, being that I can't even remember the last time I had a girls night out, if the opportunity presented itself and I left at 9pm, I'd probably try to be home by 3am the latest. Any later than that I know that DH would be pizzed.
If this was a regular thing, I'd be coming home much earlier (probably 12-1am) out of respect for DH... and I would expect the same from him.

you keep blowing him off, citing various reasons that have to do with your friends/fun/issues whathaveyou.
honestly, if it were me, the real problem would be that even though I tell you something bothers me, your actions tell me you just don't give a sh1t.
if it was ONCE or TWICE...maybe..but after that you'd be on a short leash.
if he was FAR away (ie Fire Island, Atlantic City...Jupiter) it would be fine.
but NO...not just at some random bar/club a hop skip from home.
get your azz home...that's what I'd tell him, and that is what I'd do.

If DH stayed out that late (early?) I'd be pizzed too! In a marriage you have to take other people's feelings into consideration. My first thought would be "what the h e l l was he doing until 5:00?" then my next thought would be to toss his shite out the window

I want to add that I think marriage is about compromise....if you know he will be ******, then WHY would you stay out so late? I am sorry, but I think that is showing an utter lack of respect for him and I would not tolerate that from my SO

I don't really go out all that much but if I am just getting together with friends locally we usually head out at about 9/10 and I would be back by 12 ish, maybe 1. If it's an event like a bachelorette party or something specific like that it could be later but I woulld have planned for it and DH would know in advance.
His big concern in that situation is always how I am getting home, who's driving, etc.
