Oh #@&*^%$#!!!!!!

So my sis and I booked a trip to london in nov and now we cant go (long story) and bc my sister does things w/o thinking, she never read the "fine print" on the reservation and they are "use them, or lose them tickets!" I was just on the phone w/ expedia and we cant cancel, exchange, or even swicth another passenger (its me who cant go not my sis).

So now im out $500!!!!!

But can you switch the ticket to a future date??

It may cost you a change fee (if the fare is lower, you wouldn't have to pay it) but you could always plan a trip later.

Wow that's annoying! I read your predicament with your sister the other day, it's really sad that you have to cancel. Now that you know you can't cancel, have you thought about maybe seeing if you can find a cheap place to stay and still go? Either find a cheap hotel or hostel, or I have even heard of sites like couchsurfing.com to connect with people in other countries that you could stay with while you're there? (not sure I would try that myself, but I figured I'd throw it out there). It may be worth it to just pay the money for the hotel, rather than lose $500, and this way you can still travel with your sister.
