weigh gain-ugh!

Okay, when I tell most people how far along I am I hear this "wow you are so tiny"... I am not a tiny person, but I guess my belly appears tiny to others.
However, I have gained 25 pounds (which I worry is too much)...I don't feel huge, but everytime I get on the scale I worry that I am gaining too much! I still have 13 weeks to go! I can only imagine how much more I will gain!

I wish I could give you some advice. I am having the opposite problem. My belly is HUGE apparently (from all the comments I have been hearing Chat Icon ) but I only gained 11 lbs. I have 13 weeks to go also. I'm afraid of what I am going to look like.

Isn't it so weird how everyone's body reacts so differently to pregnancy!

Re: weigh gain-ugh!

I'm with you. Everyone says the tummy is small, but I've gained between 25-30 lbs and I have 12 weeks to go. My doc says I'm right on target.

I tell myself its just how my body is. I have friends whose bodies stay exactly the same except for their perfectly round bellies. I gained weight in my thighs, hips, and butt. But I feel good and I'm balanced!

I had the same with my first. Your body will just gain what it needs. It is hard to see the scale keep creeping up though. To make you feel a little better, at my 1 week post partum check up, I lost 27 lbs! Chat Icon

I know! And that was all baby and baby related "stuff". I was not by any means on any strict diet or anything. So even though I gained 47 lbs total- I only had 20 to lose after that 1 week check up. Chat Icon

First of all, don't look at the numbers!! You look wonderful and as long as you feel good and remain healthy, the numbers don't matter!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: weigh gain-ugh!

Don't worry about the numbers, there were months I gained 7-10 lbs...then this last week I lost 4. As long as your dr. says you are healthy, don't stress the numbers....Chat Icon
