Hi, my name is Rachel and I'm stupid.
Yup. Stupid. We have to turn over the keys to our apartment on Thursday, and we went back today to do one finish cleaning the kitchen and to clean the carpets, and guess what? I had the electric shut off on the wrong date! It was supposed to be shut off on the 28th and I put the 26th So, now it seems we will be losing money from our deposit for the carpet

Do you live in a building/complex?
If so, the complex should still have it on. The company will just switch it to the Apt. Complex name. This happened to me once and I still was able to clean up on the Apts. bill.

Yeah, it's in a complex, but we were there today and nothing. Maybe when we go back tomorrow, it will have kicked in for the complex? But our lease is up on Thursday, so I'm thinking that it won't be on until Friday.

Yeah, this is what JT said we should do. We're going to either do that or run a couple of cords to the laundry room. But seriously, I was so mad at myself today becuase now this is an extended mess when it could have been done already.

they will really take your whole deposit for having a dirty carpet?
That really sticks, I figured they chalk up some routine maintenance things when tenants move out like painting, a good cleaning etc. that would need to be done for the new tenants anyway.
Is there anyway it can be turned on again?
