I'm Having Extreme Guilt

I haven't been able to visit Fred since Thursday. His kids went on Saturday but I've been trying to make sure he had someone there everyday, whether it be me or someone else. mostly me.

I was going to leave work at 4 today and go there for a while then take the 6:15 train home for my 7pm doc appt.

I couldn't get out of work to make that time. Mom spoke to him yesterday and he seemed down. Of course he's lonely and has a certain amount of "hospital depression".

I just feel so bad that I can't go tonight.

UGH!!! I'm almost in tears. I don't even want to call him so I don't have to hear how down he is in his voice.

yea, you're terrible! don't feel guilty, I know easier said than done... but you have your own responsibilities too

You are NOT terrible. You are wonderful. You just don't have the ability to control or stop time!

He is very lucky to have you as a sister, and you'll see him soon!!

I have such hospital anxiety for my own stays. I know he doesn't remember much but I know he feels it when he doesn't have people there. It's very hard.

I only hope that he gets moved to North Shore soon so he'll be closer and he can be in a more relaxed social environment.
