What foods would you not
ever order in a restaurant not because you dont like it but just to messy? For me it would be ribs they are way to messy, and also artichokes.

There may be a situation that I wouldn't order a messy food - like a business lunch, but in appropriate company, I wouldn't hesitate to order something messy if it's what I wanted to eat!

Spaghetti.
There are a lot of dishes I wouldn't order at a business lunch for messy (lobster, crab, anything with too much effort to eat) & smell issues (no garlic)

in a restaurant, i wouldnt really eat anything that requires eating it with my hands (lobster, ribs, crab legs, etc). but when i'm home its a free for all!!!

tootally agree.....lobster has to be taken from the shell, crab also....but the chicken on the bone im a freak and i dont eat ANYTHING on the bone....ribs chicken legs/thighsetc steak anything....im not a vegan BUT the bone is just a reminder that someone had to kill it....kinda grosses me out....i know hey i still love my burger and chicken cutlets but as long as the bone is not there i can just pretend

Not for messy reasons but like I would never order fish from a diner or a restaurant that I didn't know...I am always afraid there would be something wrong with it

There is nothing I would not eat if I had a craving for it!!! I go out to eat and enjoy myself not to act prissy. Now if it's for buisness then a simple salad or steak. I take a more conservative route. But there are no hold back when family dinner comes around....ribs, crab, lobster. clams, anything my pudgy stomach/lil heart desires

I eat ribs with a fork and knife, so I have no problem ordering them... 
I prefer not to order bone-in buffalo wings because they can be messy -- but if it's just friends, I don't care!

Nothing smelly (garlic), nothing with bones, nothing I have to use my hands for to eat, if I'm out with people I don't know well or coworkers.
If you are a good friend or family, I'll order whatever I feel like, messy or not.
It took me a while to feel comfortable eating messy food in front of DH.

I often eat my sandwiches, pizza & burgers with a fork & knife regardless of where I am. (and I cut my corn off the cob.  )

same here.
the only time i order lobster or crab legs is if the restaurant provides someone to take the meat out and serve it to you.
a lot of nice places do this and then it's totally worth it! you get to eat them and there's NO mess and no hands smelling afterwards 
most of the time- if this is not an option- i'll just order lobster tails. they are easy to take out (with a fork) of the shell and then eat- no mess... i had them last night actually at dinner! it was AMAZING (21 Main in Sayville)... so great!!!!!
