Say a prayer for the fireman that lost his life tonight.

A 23-year-old firefighter from Ladder 146 died Thursday evening after he fell several floors while battling a blaze in Brooklyn.
The fire broke out just before 5 p.m. in an artist's studio on Meserole Street in Williamsburg and took over an hour to extinguish.
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta said Queens resident Daniel Pujdak slipped while on the roof of the four-story building and fell to the ground.
Witnesses say it was a frightening scene.
“When I see him step up on the roof, I just seen him tumbling down,” said one witness. “That’s all I saw, him tumbling down. I just shut my van off and ran to the scene.”
“It was bad,” said another witness. “He was coming down really quick. He was coming down screaming.”
Pujdak was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
He had been on the job for two years. Pujdak is the 1,135th member of the FDNY to die in the line of duty in the department's history.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg was at the hospital to support Pujdak's family.
"This is a terrible loss for the family and it is a terrible loss for this entire city and it reminds us how dangerous firefighting is and how much we owe it to the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday for us," said the mayor.
No one else was injured in the fire.
Fire officials say the fire was caused by an unattended cigarette left by the window

OMG. that is heartbreaking.
my brother is a fireman in Pennsylvania. the danger of the job is always on my mind. my heart goes out to his family.

This is so sad......many thoughts and prayers are sent out to this guys family at this time....I can't even imagine!! My boyfriend is a firefighter in Manhattan and all of these accidents get me so nervous sometimes...it's so scary...
