back to school

with summer starting later today, it might sound like i'm jumping the gun.

i've finally decided to take a step towards getting my life to where i want it to be. i decided to go back to school and finish my bachelor's.

this morning, i started to look at the college website (closest to me), and i found that they have a FEB 15 application deadline. i really did not want to have to wait another semester.

so, the thought crossed my mind: what about those on-line colleges/degrees?!

thoughts??

tia

I would call the school and see if there is any chance they might make an exception. Also, maybe you could see if the application deadlines are different for transfer/part time applicants.

I think being in the classroom is a big part of the learning experience so the online thing wouldnt be for me.

i feel the same about the classroom experience. that's why i'm not jumping in to the online option just yet.

thanks for the tip on asking... the worst they can say is no.

Re: back to school

you can still take classes-

this is what I did with FIT- I was too late to apply for the fall- so I just went and signed up for a bunch of classes

I applied for the spring- once they saw I had taken classes- they let me right it

I was a non-matriculated student- so then they allowed to me matriculate

it worked out perfect

if you want to start- just start!

i see what you mean.

ok. i think i can handle that.

one question. once you go from non-matriculated to matriculated, do those credits you took while non-matriculated count?

Re: back to school

I went to a big college for my undergrad and now go online for my grad degree. I personally love it. I've moved, been mobilized for the military, changed jobs, all the while I've been to keep up with my degree and now I'm near completion. I think the program is very relevant and the online aspect in many ways is a great tool in learning. Just like at my work, where I collaborate online with colleagues, I work with the other students online via email and telephone and the website. You do have make time and be self-disciplined otherwise you can get behind, and the workload is not necessarily easier because it’s online.
