How long of a drive would it be

before you would rather fly? I think for me anything more than 6hrs driving I would rather hope on a plane.

Re: How long of a drive would it be

more than a day

my favorite vacation ever was driving down from NY to Key West (24 hours) and I am doing it again in about two years.

Of course, if I had limited time I would consider flying.

More than a day.

I've flown to avoid a 6 hour drive before but that was when my entire income was disposable.

I would say more than a day too.

I've driven to Florida several times and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Re: How long of a drive would it be

anything over a day...I don't mind being in the car for 10-12 hours...right now I have been flying more because the price of airfare is cheaper then gas Chat Icon

With that said, I would still love to drive cross country!!!

Re: How long of a drive would it be

I would fly to Buffalo if I could. Long drives bother me (unless its a "road trip" or a scenic drive) That's totally different!

Me too -- beyond 4 maybe 5 hours I get miserable.

Re: How long of a drive would it be

I could do a day, but to me what really matters is how long the entire trip is.

IE - 5 hr drive to New Hampshire is easy for me, but I won't go at all if its only for a weekend. It would have to be a 3 day or 4 day weekend to be worth the driving to me, and flying door to door would be the same time so no sense there....

Re: How long of a drive would it be

If it takes longer to drive to the airport, wait in line, go through security, taxi & then fly..etc, then I fly. If it is the same amount of time as driving, then I'll drive.

My sister moved to MD, and she is in a town where the drive from the airport is about 1.5 hours. So with my drive to JFK, the security line, etc etc..it actually only takes about 1/2 more to drive to her.

Re: How long of a drive would it be

I used to be horrible in the car for long drives.....but moving to NC and driving back and forth for moving, seeing family etc has actually helped a lot....it usually takes anywhere from 8-10 hrs.....but 10 hrs is my max that is when hysteria starts to set in.

Re: How long of a drive would it be

Did the whole road trip thing...from Brooklyn, NY to San Francisco, CA in 4 days. Over the course of the whole trip drove well over 7,000 miles in 2 weeks.

Re: How long of a drive would it be

We drive to Boston a few times a year (8 hours). So it would have to be 10+ hours.
