Identity Theft
Well, my husband has been a victim of identity theft. To make a really long story short, I just wanted to give a little advice as someone going through this now. Call up all your credit card companies and bank accounts. Make up a personal password that no one else would know to change any account information. Mother's maiden name and birthdate aren't secure enough. These sons of you know whats had his social security number and his mother's maiden name. It is NOT a fun time!

Re: Idenity Theft
I feel terrible for you guys, I can't imagine how frustating it is! We had people steal funds from our bank account and that was a hassle. Luckily, we got the money back quickly.

Re: Idenity Theft
We got a letter in the mail from one of dh's credit cards stating that our request to extend our limit had been approved. He then logged online to his account to see that someone had charged over $32K! He called the company and they said this person had Dh's ss # and mother's maiden name. Then they changed the information on the card. It's getting worse. They set up a credit report with the major companies already in Dh's name. This is a nightmare.
