Just about 6 months, we have enough to cover our mortgage, expenses and bills. After 6 months, we would have to either dip into our 401k, or start scrimping on our bills.

If we were only out 1 income, probably 2-3 months. But we don't have a house yet and the money we have saved/saving is to buy a house. So then we would be set back by a few years trying to save all over again.
