Headache help - please!
I have never experienced anything like this - last night I got a splitting headache. It hurt so bad that I couldn't move my head, couldn't open my eyes, had to sit in a dark room with no noise, and couldn't talk.
I took 2 advil and nothing happened. Couldn't sleep because of it, and took two more advil at 2am, and STILL nothing.
I still have the headache - I had a cup of coffee this AM and that seems to be helping, but I'm still in excruciating pain.
Could this be because I started taking antibiotics yesterday? Any tips on what else I can take or do to stop this immense pain?

This is exactly what my migraines are like...Thank God I only get them once every few months.

yes, it could be your antibiotics. I take excedrine. Nothing else helps me.
I would call your doc though.

Sounds like a migraine. Usually Exedrin Migraine works for me. Or if they get really bad I have to go to the hospital and get a shot.
I am starting my migraine medicine in a few weeks. I will have to take it everyday.

Sounds like a bad migrain to me as well. The caffeine will help - it constricts the blood vessels which make the headache go away. If you take Excedrin migraine that's one of the main ingredients. Usually the only thing that helps me is caffeine and Advil and time.

Definently sounds like a migraine! I get migraines a lot. Excedrin migraine helps and sometimes I have to take prescription medicine. The key is to take the medicine right when the migraine starts because if you wait, it takes a really long to work. Also, a dark and quiet room decreases the pain. Feel better!

FYI, excedrin migrane is just a marketing ploy to get you to pay more. If you read the label the ingredients are exactly the same as regular excedrin. My doctor told me this a few years back and I looked and he was right.
ETA: Excedrin website If you look at the labeling info for Extra strength & migrane they are exactly the same.

That is soo weird because yes it looks like it is the same yet the Migraine one you can only take 2 every 24 hrs and the extra strength you can take 2 every 6 hrs

Regardless, it WORKS!!! I had a migraine last week and took regular excerdrin at noon, it did nothing, After work I ran and got Excedrin Migraine and took it at 5pm and my headaceh was gone in 30 min My migrain ewas so bad I threw up and couldn't even drive home
