I never heard of committ and don't know anyone that was successful with the patch. If you are ready, I would try cold turkey. It's hard at first but after about a week or so you start to feel better - that's what I did. This week is four years since I quit.

Good luck!! Chat Icon

Re: Committ

I quit with Nicorette gum. IMO it worked.
Put your mind to it and you can do it.
FYI - Costco sells the gum for the best price.

Re: Committ

I tried all the quit smoking aids but it was when I was REALLY ready that I quit cold turkey and it worked. I smoked a pack a day for 10 years and am now 2 years and 2 months non-smoking Chat Icon If you are ready, you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!

None of those gimmicks ever worked for me... I tried it all: gum, patch, inhaler, etc. You want the nicotine out of your system asap in order to reduce withdrawal symptoms. All those things keep it in your system longer.

So I recommend cold turkey or Zyban/Welbutrin/or that other new pill.

Good luck!!

Re: Committ

I quit with the patch. I stuck it on and never had another cig. Then again it wasn't too hard for me because I was down to about 5 cigs a day.

I also used Zyban/Welbutrin. I quit within a week. I'm going on 7 1/2 years now.

Good Luck!

I used the patch. I couldn't start with the strongest so I used step 2 first ..
