lets talk papayas
i love them
they're my favorite fruit
in my house you'll always find papayas and mangos during the summer
my fiance never had one till he met me
so my questions are
1. have you ever tried one or is it a spanish thing?
2. do you like them?

I've tried it, but only because my parents were big on making us try EVERYTHING.
I like the flavor, but I think I have a slight allergy. They make my lips, tongue, and throat itchy! (As do mangos, kiwi, and eggplant!)

Mangoes I really like, Papayas I do not like when they are fresh, I only like Papayas when they are dried.

Paypayas are absolutely delicious, but I enjoy mangos a lot more.
DH never had either one until he met me...my jaw dropped when he asked me "what the heck is that big pear thing?"

we never ate them at home growing up, but we've been to jamaica three times and they were served with every meal. they are ok, but i would never buy them...we did buy them to make smoothies once.

I love Papayas and Mangoes! As a matter of fact my parents have two papayas trees and some mangoe trees as well on their property in Jamaica.

 OMG that is awesome!
And Yes I have tried papayas, and I like them, but they are so ridiculously expensive the past few seasons that I have not bought them in a while.
ETA: But I was thrilled when Mangoes went on sale last week. I bought a bunch & made smoothies & a fruit salad. I could eat mangoes every day...

LOVE papayas and every other kind of tropical fruit. the best papayas and mangoes I ever had were in Jamaica  I had them every morning with breakfast. SO SO SO GOOD!

DH and i love papayas!
we like them best fresh w/ lime juice.
the lime really brings out the flavor!
we learned that on our HM last year in hawaii!
