I have always been interested in photography and pictures in general. but I have not taken any classes.
since I bought my DH a Nikon SLR, I have been using it more than he does!  what an AWESOME camera!!! the pics are just incredible

I have a Nikon D50 w/ the 18-55mm kit lens and a 55-200mm zoom. Oh, and my speedlight .
I took 1 photography course back in college and I'm getting more and more into it now.
Nikon offers classes also but I haven't gotten around to taking one with them or anyone else yet.
For now, I just read, read, read alot (and look at alot of photos too of course) and practice.

that's exactly what I got him. he bought the extra zoom lense and has taken amazing pics with it

I'm interested in photography but dont know the first thing about fstop, shutterspeed, etc.
I'd love to take a digital SLR course that teaches the basics. I've looked into Nikon's courses but haven't signed up since I'm stretched thin these days trying to practice graphic design in Adobe photoshop.
I have a Nikon D70, 75-300mm lens.

Haven't taken classes but have always been interested in it. We just recently bought the Canon 30D DSLR with IS lens. It has beena lot of fun and has definitely re-sparked my interest in it...and just in time for an upcoming trip!
I agree with the above poster - read, read, read and practice.

I took a basics class with my N60 film and have a D70S also (both Nikon) with a bunch of different lenses (but no macro yet - $$$!!)
There's a photography group here that I may join if I have time in order to learn more. Otherwise I just practice whenever I can!

I'm not taking classes. I'm reading up on Adobe, practicing on the train, etc. Luckily many of the moms have given me projects to work on so it's been going well. Before I take an Adobe course, I would opt for a DSLR one.

I did like it but def not worth the money. I still have no idea what is what and resort back to the way I know how to take pictures

on a side note, my sis bought her DH a few classes (out in CA though). he loved them so much that he signed up for a few more. he thought they were great and he has really mastered taking pics at night. he sent us some pics from a recent trip to DC and they were AMAZING night shots.
taking pics at night with a digital SLR is VERY tricky!

I have 2 or 3 basic digital photography books from Borders. I also look on line for photography tutorials. I read the books like a madwoman and then practice taking pictures of anything and everything. Then I delete!

Someone was selling a brand new NIKON yesterday. Not sure if it's still for sale but it was a good price.

I have a Nikon D50, and I am taking a course through the NY Institute of Photography in NYC. It is an at-home study course. I'm not too far into it, but I like it so far.
