Yea, it sure is! When people openly post about driving drunk it tends to strike a nerve with some. Especially if people reading this have lost someone close to them to drunk driving.
I understand and I'm sorry for your loss...however this seems more like a personal attack against one person in particular. Perhaps it should have been taken to FM instead of posted under the guise of something else.

Nah, not a personal attack at all. The earlier post prompted me to think of past posts, and that is why I wrote this. I didn't mention names until the poster decided to stir it up on this thread. THEN and only then did I become more specific.

and as for quoting, don't post it if you don't want it quoted...NOTHING drives me more bananas crazy than people who post and then take it down or say "don't quote this cuz I am taking it down"

this is an interesting spin off..
answer...anything that could get me in "real" trouble (ie with my job, the law) or anything that could hurt my family or loved ones, I generally do not post about.
once it's out there, you can't take it back, you can edit all you want...but guranteed there was at least one view before you do.
also, anything that could possibly make me look stupid, negligent or like I have scrambled eggs for brains...I try not to let that show either.
you cant' just sh1t your life out in a post, and expect no repercussions.

My only real reply to this is, "wow, you have guts for posting this". Seriously. Why would you want your past (pot smoking habits, sex life, drinking escapades, etc) plastered all over the internet?
Maybe I'm crazy, or maybe just a big prude.
Is anyone with me?
ETA: Yes, this is only my opinion AND everyone is entitled to do what they wish, BUT, what is your reasoning behind posting these things? PSA? Educating others? I'm not really sure why someone would do this.
I totally agree with you once again! I am very careful about what I post on here and there are certain things that I won't post about.

Having been stalked in the past by an ex-boyfriend, I try to be cautious in what I post. At the same time, I know through people we both know that he's well aware of who I married, where I live and that I have at least one kid, so I'm not overly neurotic about it.
Stuff that's illegal I definately wouldn't post. Police departments are pretty open about the fact that they have divisions that look on internet sites for people who admit to doing illegal things, and then they can get that poster's information from the site adminstrator and start investigating further.
Do I think our local police are looking for people who post on here they do pot, no. I do think that if they see you posting a lot about doing crazy things that could lead to trouble, maybe they'll start wanting to learn a little more about you.

Not to mention that there are actually plenty of people who post on here that are members of various local PD's or are married to officers or work for legal agencies and so on and so forth.

I keep it light; I post nothing personal. No in law stuff, no real family stuff, no past history of anything...stuff! I have written about my dad's cancer and my sister's disability, but I am open about that. I don't post personal stuff. But to each her own. I just try to help if I can.

Actually Jes, you're wrong. I've never had issues with you before. We've shared info about our dogs, talked about tattoos, and replied to many of each others' posts. I have no reason to attack you personally. I didn't agree with a topic you posted about, and I put in my two cents. If you post something, it's up for debate. As when I post, or if anyone else posts.
I agree with 98 percent of the things that you post, and I've gotten a lot of laughs from your posts/funny stories; this is just one example of something that I don't agree with/relate to. Either stop taking things personally, or stop posting things that people will have differing opinions about.

i know we have never had issues before and have alot in common and agree alot.
and i realize things are up for debate.
i have admitted over and over again that i made a poor decision. HOWEVER, with that said, i feel as if you (and maybe 1 or 2 others) are making it out to be ALOT worse than what it actually is/was.
saying i "sideswapped" a car insinuates a horrendous accident imo. thats one thing.
another is saying i "drove drunk". i said that i had 4 drinks and a certain time period, waited 2.5 hours and then drove. i wasnt DRUNK, but i think i should have most definatly should have waited longer, or just opted for public transportation.
i have NEVER driven after having alchol before. never. and never will. its not like i was this wasted chick all over the place, i wasnt. i just think i should have waited longer.
but now i look like this horrible person and i am not. but when people make such horrible accusations, or use such strong words it brings everything into a different light.

I am not from LI and know nobody personally from LI, so that elimates a lot of people from really caring about who I am and what I write.
I, too, am an open book and am not worried one bit about the things I write on here...everyone who knows me and loves me knows how I feel about certain issues like smoking pot. I am not working (baby almost here) and don't plan to work in the future, so I am not worried about anything I write holding me back career-wise.
I never write anything bad about my family or my ILs however...because that is the kind of stuff that comes back to bite you in the ***.
