Going to see Freddy today-updated
The TV works..jeez, all it took is getting the head of the department involved.
I am going to sit in on his PT today and make fun of him. They were tossing a ball around and I told him he throws like a girl. Hey, I have to keep the brother/sister thing going..
I am finally able to get him to sign a POA..he's congnitive enough. How about that for a milestone! Thanks to all of the attorneys/notaries out there that were willing to help me. It looks like the hospital will be able to help us out.
Fred is now worrying about where he goes next and where his money is. He's thinking appropriately and logically. Yay!!! Now, I have to calm him down.
I didn't hear if the insurance company is extending him another week, but I haven't heard otherwise so I am assuming they are.
I am hopeful for the first time that Fred eventually will be OK. Not 100% but maybe 80%? Keeping my fingers crossed everyday.
They started to wrap his stump to prep it for a prosthetic. That will happen at the next level, hopefully at North Shore.

Got back..
they are so funny there. They thew a baby shower for a patient who is in the unit who is pregnant. All of the patients are were able to attend were there and I tagged along. Fred enjoyed the interaction and had a good time. This is why I want him in a more social setting. It's a hospital and it may be time for him to go to the next level. Insurance hasn't given us word yet.
I had him signed the POA and it was notarized. We talked with the social worker today and he told me that he didn't want to live in an institution. I told him there is no reason why that would happen. He is going to get more rehab for a while then come home. I told him it would take a few months but he needs to stick it out with our help.
He is coming around and getting better.
He walked with his walker with very little help 25 feet. That's with one leg...let's see you all do that!

this is funny.
His ex-wife went to see him today...she's great.
he now remembers that she is his ex..she actually helped him into the bathroom to the toilet.
Freddy is one luck SOB.
She thinks he's doing great!
Her sister is coming there later to cut his hair...she's a hair stylist. Nice..
So, he actually had three beautiful women (albeit, one was his sister) come to see him today.
