Strange Gift Occassion

A friend of mine just called off her wedding-- it was supposed to be this weekend and instead a couple of people are getting together to go out for a nice, fun dinner-- so she is not home alone and thinking about what the weekend could have been.

Anyway-- I have not really *talked* to her about what happened-- we got a note in the mail from her parents.. and I just sent my love, and left it at that. I have no idea what happened, who ended it, etc. I am sure it will come out, but, I didn't want top badger her.

Anyway-- I want to bring her a little something-- or is that ridiculous? I have a Jacques Torres right next to my office, so I was just thinking a box of gourmet chocolate-- since, chocolate makes you feel good-- and, she doens't have to fit into a wedding dress anymore-- is that stupid-- should I not bother?

I think that's a nice idea. Something small to let her know you're thinking about her.

I love Jaques Torres! I think that's a great idea, maybe along with a note saying you are available if she wants to talk!

I think that is really sweet! My girlfriends and I went away the weekend that my first wedding would have taken place. We went out that night and I wore black - we called it my un-wedding day. I actually had a blast and once I got past that day I really felt like I could start fresh. The date really does linger over you until it passes. Any thoughtful gesture from a friend was much appreciated! I think what you are doing is very sweet!

You hit it on the head!
Once the day passes life can move on!
Just spending the time with her will be appreciated. Good chocolate is good. Does she have a favorite drink, just moved, something that you know she personally would enjoy!?

She loves tequila-- and as for other food-- I am not sure. Honestly- who doesn't like chocolate, and I'd rather get her something decadent, as opposed to a bottle of Cuervo-- which she can pick up herself.

I just looked on his web site-- and he has champagne truffles made with Tattinger Champagne-- those might be nice-- you know, celebrate starting over.

Chocolate AND alcohol-- SOLD!

I have heard of them, but never tried them. Let me know how she likes them. That is a great combination!
