are antibotics ok during pregnancy
i have a leason in my nose and they said if i get it removed i willhave to be put on antibotics afterwards..
are antibotics ok? i have to call my OB Mon but i just want to know now.
i just looked it up and it says its not totally recommneded. I really dont want to take it. Maybe i can get it out and not use the antibotic

i had to go on antibiotics that my obgyn put me on... if its your regular doctor just tell them you are pregnant so they give you one of the safer ones

There are specific ones better for pregnancy. It's not a good idea in the 1st trimester, but you're so far along now. I had to go on them when I had my emergency root canals. Typically, amoxiciliian is fine.

I took antibiotics around 19 weeks due to a bacterial infection caused by a cold. My regular doc said they were safe during pregnancy, but I also stopped at my OBGYN's office on the way back w/the Rx to double check, and it was fine. They even said it was safer to be on it than to not treat the infection...I don't remember which antibiotic I was on, but it was one of the basics.

Amoxicillan if FINE throughout all trimesters. I had strep throat at 6 weeks and was prescribed that. Amox is listed as a Class B drug which means it's safe.

I was on antibiotics twice during this pregnancy, once very early on and then in the beginning of my 3rd trimester. I was fine both times. Just make sure your regular doctor knows you are pregnant and then double check with your pharmacist.

thanks for the responses. it makes me feel better. i also have to get a oral aneststic injected by my nose so they can get it out... i will definetly call OB to make sure i can get it out during pregnancy.

I have also been on antibiotics during this pg (3 x) due to sinus infections. There are antibiotics that are safe for pg women. As others have pointed out, make sure your doctor is aware that you are pg.

I was on them around 14 weeks for strep throat. Both my doctor and OB okay'd it.
