What would you do?

If you saw a crime about to happen, a fight amongst kids, or any type of violent act occurring in the street, subway, etc?

I know it's harder now-a-days, because you just never know, but I would want to help in any way I could.

It depends on the degree of crime that's about to take place.

I recently witnessed a bunch of kids trying to steal a bike, and I stepped in and told them to cut it out. They ran away...

A few weeks ago a car nearly ran over a man crossing the street, so the man smacked the car. The driver stopped the car, got out, and started coming after the guy. I'm an idiot because I was half the size of both of them, but I stepped in, or more like, yelled at him to back off. The driver's wife came running after him and convinced him to back down, so he left voluntarily anyway.

What shocked me is there were MANY people on the street, many men who were three times my size, who saw what was happening, ignored it and just kept walking.

So, I would probably get involved directly - I mean, even when some guy tried to steal my wallet, I chased him into the subway until he eventually threw it on the ground and ran into a tunnel, so I'm not exactly clear-headed when I feel an injustice is taking place

I'm a call for help kinda gal... people are crazy and you never know what they're capable of so I would never physically step in...

I was driving a few months ago and saw a couple fighting and the guy started to HIT the woman, I called 911.

I commend you!!! I remember one time I was on the LIRR going to work. At the Jamaica stop a guy got on and sat next to me (mind you there were seats ALL around) and put his hand on my thigh. I smacked it off and told him what are you doing? He smiled and did it again, and I smacked it again and got up. He put his foot up to block me from leaving, and I yelled out "move the f*** out of my way!! He moved it, but everyone around just looked at me as if I knew him..and said nothing.

So scary...

And this wasn't a crime..but I fell in the tracks at 6 months pregnant. (I was VERY skinny back then). I had one leg in and the other was up, and people sitting on the train just sat there and looked at me as I screamed my head off for help!! The conductor saw me and ran to me and helped me up. I just couldn't believe it.
