Our living expenses (mortgage, utilities, food, cell phone - we have a family plan) come out of our joint account.
3 of his 4 monthly paychecks go into that account and about 70% of my monthly take-home go into the joint account.
His 1 check a month is for his student loan and whatever spending money he needs. He'll put some money in his savings account as well.
My 30% goes towards my LIRR ticket, my student loan and some cc debt I have and spending money, I also put 10% into my savings.
I take money out of our joint checking and put it in to a joint savings account as well.
DH also gets "vacation" pay from the union, that goes right to savings, unless it's needed for unexpected expenses. As does any bonus money I get.
ETA: I do the bills. DH sux at handling money.

I make more than DH, so I think I pay more. But, I definately spend more as well.
He gives me a set amount at the end of the week and keeps $100 for himself (plus any overtime he makes). I pay the bills, rent, cc, car payment, savings, etc., with my money and the money he gives me is spending and food money. Also if we go out, I use that money. Lots of times I don't use it all and I get a whole bunch of "extra" money and I will put that in our savings when it really adds up.

we have a joint account and we also each have our own accounts.
we do it by percentage, since DH makes about 30 K more than i do. we each deposit an equal percentage of our paychecks into the jiont account, and use that to pay mortgage, bills. groceries, etc... and the rest of each of our paychecks goes into our seperate accounts that we do what we want with. it works out great  we each contribute to house bills, but each stil have our own "just in case" money, too

There is no "my money" and "his money." ALL of our bank and financial accounts are joint (except our 401(k)s b/c that would be impossible). We pay all the bills and contribute to savings from OUR money.

We each put a certain amount away each week for combined expenses (house, life insurance policies, utilities etc).
Monthly we put away a certain amount into joint savings.
Whatever left over is our own (individually) to spend/save and pay our own credit cards.

Us too. Since we moved in together almost four years ago.
Both checks go into one account, right now it works out that DH's pay the rent and mine pay the bills. But that changes based on a lot of variables.
I pay everything. DH has no idea what we pay for things and just uses the money I give him.
Recently I was at lunch with my parents who have been married for 35 years and my dad asked my mom for $20. She handed it to him and then yelled at him for not telling her that he spent $5 on their debit card. I almost died laughing bc he makes A LOT of money and they sounded just like me and DH.

Since I am a SAHM my DH pays for mostly everything. I sell on ebay and that usually brings in enough to cover the groceries or other minor things that need to be paid.

DH pays the mortgage, electric, oil, cable, his car and his own private credit cards
I pay the telephone, internet, cell phones, water (big woop), groceries my car, credit cards and student loans
We have a joint savings which pays our car insurance, vet bills and any other larger "surprises".
It works for us

DH gets direct deposit. I get cash.
So, i pay more of the rent (alittle more than half) and he pays all of the other bills (cells, cable, electric, etc)

S/O make a bit more than me, but we each put a certain amount in and pay all our bills from that. As long as the bills are paid he never questions how I spend, or what I spend it on. We've been doing in this way for a few years now....and it works for us!
