Living Expenses

How do you and your DH/DW/BF/GF/roommate divide up living expenses? Is everything 50/50 do you put in more? Do he/she/they put in more?

we use DHs paycheck for all of the bills and my money
(which is rent money we get--- since I am not working fulltime right now) we use for spending money and money we save... when I go back to work next year- we will be doing the same basically- dhs check pays for all the monthly expenses and my check plus the rent money we will be getting, will be spending money/vacation money/ money we save

We're living off DH's salary for everything and banking mine/paying student loans off with mine. He pays all the bills (except for my cell and CC which come to me). He's better at keeping track of stuff.

DH pays the rent

I pay- the utlities (cable and phone), parking(b/c electric is included in the rent- otherwise we would each pay for our own spot), food, any target stuff- shaving cream etc - in my food budget, poland spring deliver

he makes more money then I do- so splitting everything 50/50 doesn't make sense for us- and wouldn't be fair to me

unless you are married- please don't share money - I lived with someone in the past- and it was a MESS- I lost thousands of dollars

Almost all of our bills are direct debit out of our account every month. Anything else, I pay from our combined account.

Since I am a SAHM DHs checks pay all the bills.
I was just offered a PT job which I accepted. Those checks will go towards groceries and if we want to go out.
I will also be looking for a new car soon, so, it will definitley help with car payments.

All of our money goes into one pot and I pay the bills. We bank my salary and DHs salary goes towards bills and savings. He makes over 3x more than me so doing things 50/50 would be grossly unfair.

ETA: we each have our own accounts as well for "me" money...the majority of our money goes into 2 joint savings accts.

We have a joint account, most of our paychecks gets direct deposited in there and the bills come out monthly from there. we just have a very small amount of $ that goes in our separate accounts for fun.

All of our money goes into one account. I budget our monthly expenses, pay bills, and decide what goes into joint savings. In addition, we each take 5% of our paycheck for personal savings (not joint). That way we have some of our own money if there is a purchase we do not agree on. For example, DH used that money to buy the surround sound system we did not need and I can buy expensive handbags, shoes, etc. It works great!

He pretty much pays for almost everything. He makes just about 3 times more than me. Most of my pay goes into our savings. I pay for my car and personal expenses, a lot of the utility bills, stuff for my son etc.

our money is completely separate.

he pays most of the bills.

I pay mostly for food/groceries and usually for hotels and stuff when we go away.

we each pay our own cc and monthly bills.

we each save our own money.

We are married and both paychecks get direct deposited into one account. I pay all the bills and take $ out for savings from that account. We each get a little spending $ for the week. If we need to take out more for something else, we discuss it first.

Since I'm a SAHM now, DH pays for everything. What I saved when I was working is our emergency fund.

Both of us have our paychecks direct deposited into our separate accounts. DH makes more then me, so he pays the mortgage. LIPA, cell phone (joint account), his car payments He also pays for his cc.

I pay for the household phone, insurance (home & car), my car expense & my own CC.
