So funny you posted this - I just bought prenatals the other day. I had been taking them for about 2 months postpartum, ran out and needed vitamins so I just got some more!

My prenatals make me burp (and it tastes horrible), so I take them in the middle of the night so I don't have to deal with it.
I'm definately not taking them after the baby is born.

My doctor me yes, even if you don't breastfeed. Something about your body needing to replenish the minerals and vitamins.

I never took vitamins in my life until TTCing so....I will probably just stay on the prenatals (Target) while BFing anyway...

I plan to as well. They are also sold over the counter in drug stores and are just as good as the prescribed ones.

I was told to keep taking them by the discharge nurse and my doctor looked at her laughed b/c I hadn't taken them since my 12 week appointment.
So...no. I should start taking vitamins though. I took them pre-preg religiously.

i have been taking prenats for over 4 years now. Started when I was preparing to TTC and then I BF my DD for a year and a half. Felt there was no reason to go off of them. got pregnant again, lost the baby and now TTC (I'm on more potent Prenats this time).

I have been taking them
and I am not breastfeeding - regular multi-vitamin bother my stomach - and prenatals didn't so I never stopped taking them
Plus...insurance pays for it
