We are having his when he is 7 1/2 weeks. My mom said that they had really like christening outfits at BRU so I am going to check them out.

we got our DD's outfit at BRU and will get DS's there as well.
We had our DD's when she was 2 1/2 mths old at a fire house hall.
Our DS's will be when he is around 2 mths in my parents backyard.
Our backyard is a mess.

We're not having ours until DD is 7 or 8 months...we have to wait for his Godmother to have her baby and be able to fly in from TX.
I saw the dress I like at BRU, but I believe (at least for our family) that the godparents are supposed to purchase the outfit...I guess we'll wait till it's closer as we don't know what size she'll be.
ETA: We haven't decided where to have the event yet...but I've already started looking!

We are having immediate family only and that will be about 75 people. We decided to have a huge 1st birthday that will be in our backyard with prob around 125 ppl.

my DD's christening is tomorrow, she is 2 1/2 months....she is wearing a christening dress that my mom made which my sister and I both wore for our christenings.

We'll be at the USMMA chapel in the fall for the christening.
Not sure about the outfit. I was going to use my wedding dress...but I don't know if I want to cut it up! So I might buy something or work with my MIL to make a little outfit.

theresa, we had Lauren's when she was 5 months old due to people's schedules and the fact we had to fly up for it as well. We chose the church I made my sacraments in as well where we got married. It was a private ceremony and so sweet. The dress was purchased at the perfectpear.com
It's gorgeous. We had just under a 100 people, rented a hall and catered it.
Next time it will be at a restaurant.
ETA: I also planned the christening while I was pregnant.

ours in July and I was having it at a hall but my parents said no and now it is at there house,,,,, glad I am an adult who can make babies but still listen to mom and dad on where to have the party!! as for her dress, dn't know yet have to wait bc she is growing like a nut case!

with Justin - we had his when he was 4 months at Danfords in Port Jeff
with Evan - he was 3 months and we had it in our backyard since it was summer
I had well over 100 people at both
still thinking of ideas for this one

Our list will be close to 100 and we are going to have it somewhere and have it catered.
I am not due till October and there is no way I am planning it now. I just don't want to tempt fate or anything. DH's cousin had a very problematic delivery and ended up with a severly disabled child who had to remain in the hospital for months. I just can't see planning it before the baby is born.

I would not say you are crazy, shoot, I wanted to book mine super in advance too, but the church wouldn't even let us book the date w/o the birth certificate. Still waiting and it's been 3 1/2 weeks since DS was born. It's killing me b/c I am such a planner, I want to have things all set, and I can't b/c we don't know the date of christening yet.
I'd suggest calling the church and see if they can book it this soon and also find out if they do christenings on certain days. I was told by my church they do them on the 4th Sunday of the month, meanwhile my SIL is having our neice's baptism at the same church on the 3rd Sunday.

Mine is already booked at the church, it is for the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Three'ish months old... I am not sure exactly where it will be held though. I just booked the church.

I havent even thought about it....but based on other family member babies being born, weddings etc all packed in the fall..and not wanting to do it in the winter months, I will probably wait till Around March of next year and he will be older.....

I am due in November, this is my thinking too - but everyone has to do what they are comfortable with!
Was the church able to give you an exact date already? That would be my other concern.
