Snacks to the hospital
I read somewhere to pack some snacks for the hospital for after we give birth.
Is anyone else doing this - or am I the only fat azz?

I have read that too in What To Expect When You're Expecting.
No, you are not the only one. I will be packing snacks especially knowing that DH is a big snacker and maybe I will feel to snack also.

I am. When I had DD, I was starving and I didn't always like what the hospital was serving. Snacks this time are a must!

its a way away for me, but i plan on bringing snacks...hospital food stinks and our family is out of town so id rather keep my husband by my side rather than having him run out for some food.
i'll be a fat azz along with you

I would totally bring snacks. What if you give birth at 3 a.m. after 15 hours of labor. Mama needs some nutrition! LOL
I would pack Granola Bars, Crackers, and something sweet (hard candy) too just in case... I would also pack a bottle of water and maybe a juice. I am sure they can supply ice at minimum on the floor.

I'm totally bringing snacks!! And I already told DH that after delivering all I want as my reward is for him to bring me ice cream!

I didn't pack snacks for me but I did for DH and he didn't even eat them. I just wanted to sleep after I delievered and when I woke up I was straving and they were serving breakfest so I had them bring me french toast (hospital breakfest) and it was delis!

nah...i'll just make DH bring me whatever I'm wanting...plus, we live 5 min from the hospital, so he can easily transport things back and forth

I had GD and couldn't have any sweets !I welcomed snacks and should have brought to bring some of my favorites..plus your huby can have them too!

This is why I love this site...I probably would not have thought of this and DH would be starving...and I imagine so would I in between hospital meals I might not like...

fyi: st charles had a kitchen with snacks and drinks for moms and dads...also dessert at 8pm each night that stayed out all night

I packed a few snacks but as people came to visit, they always asked what I would like them to bring before they arrived and DH was with me every day during recovery so he would always run out and get me some food if I didnt like the hospital food. It helped that there are tons of restaurants in Huntington

DH packed a bag for him with snacks. It was a good thing he did bc the cafeteria was closed and vending machines were empty or had crap.
I didn't think about snacks for me bc I knew they wouldn't let me eat once they admitted me. As far as after labor, the nurse brought me some juice and a sandwich.

OMG I have packed them about 3 times already!! I keep eating them in the middle of the night and then have to go out and buy more!!
I have goldfish, and PB ritz crackers, and small oreo packets...lol!!

I remember when my sister in law went into labor, my brother had 2 suitcases,,,one for her with clothes and such and one for him with snacks. I thought he was going camping or something.
Now I know to pack for DH.

BRING THEM!!! After sitting hooked up to the monitors for a few hours today STARVING, I WISH I had remembered to bring something.
We won't be making that mistake again!
