What happens to our skin
After we have the babies? DH and I were talking about this today...with all the stretching that goes on what will my stomach look like after I give birth?
I would like to be prepared for this!

I'm sure it's different for everyone, but...
I can tell you for the first couple days I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror.
It was not pretty. 
Two weeks postpartum my belly is starting to look human again, but I'm thinking there is still a while to go before it's back to normal.
Prepare yourself.

Yes. My belly was all jiggly and loose.
It looked like elephant skin.
I was seriously unprepared for that and it was really upsetting.
I know that's vain, but I wanted to cry every time I looked at it the first couple of days.

Yes. My belly was all jiggly and loose.

From what I recalled from a friend. Her belly felt like a "waterbed" (best description I can think of!). Yes, she made me touch it.
I am actually glad I did. I would have never been ready for it.

This put such an image in my head!
From what I remember from 6 years ago, it's a bit squishy. This makes sense, you just knocked out easily 8-10 pounds that had steadily filled the area. I remember feeling really out of shape and "thick" in the middle. I was less prepared for the pain in my breasts!

My sister had her baby at 36 weeks...so she didn't go full term, but her belly is back to normal (flat) now after 6 months.

My skin wasn't loose with DS and I guess the waterbed anagly is a good one. I looked like I was 4 months pg and it felt like that also. Even though I didn't have a c-section I didnt want to touch my stomach for a long time because I missed being pg so much.

Everyone is different...I never really had that loose hanging skin..it more looked like I was still about 5 months preggo. Over time it flattened out and although my stomach was never as flat as it had been, and there was more skin there, it didnt look all that different.
