Dreading My 1 hour Glucose Test
My Dr gave my script to take the 1 hour glucose test- and I'm dreading it!
Please tell me its not as bad as I think it is!

i heard it was terrible, etc, but i thought it wasnt that bad, the drink is VERY sweet but i managed to keep it down and i have m/s, i read some magazines and talked to another girl who was doing the 1 hour (we drank it at the same time) so the time would pass, good luck

I actually loved the orange drink..it tasted like Sunkist, yummy!! They all thought I was crazy but whatever..Just make sure the drink is ICY COLD!!!

I was dreading it too. Honestly, the drink wasn't that bad - it tastes like Sunkist....I think what makes it taste worse is that you try to finish it really fast so that you get on with the hour.
I brought bills to pay, and a book to read and that made the time pass pretty fast.

Liz I had to go straight to the 3 hour test and I survived so...I imagine the 1 hour can't be all THAT bad!

It's not too bad. I get nervous before all tests and this one really didn't bother me too much. (Drink is sweet but not too awful -- especially if cold -- and the blood test part isn't very scary -- the lab tech pricked my finger really fast and that was all.) You will be fine!

This is so funny....I had absolutely NO problems with this drink. It tastes just like Gatorade! It was so easy for me, but maybe that's because I really like sweet tastes right now?

My biggest problem with the 1 hour test was it took them forever to find a vein to get blood from....

Hrm- I have had the biggest sweet tooth while I've been PG- so maybe it wont be that bad after all!

Hi Liz! It isn't that bad...I had the orange flavor...and it really wasn't bad..I thought it tasted like Hi-C if you remember that drink. My biggest problem was that they couldnt find a vein to take my blood...but it luckily worked out. Bring some water with you for after the test though...I was so THIRSTY!
