Re: Worried..

First of all, congratulations. It's completely understandable to be nervous/stressed, but stressing about it won't help, so try to relax. Chat Icon

I've read posts on here about women worrying about having had drinks, etc. before they knew they were pregnant, and several people replied something to the effect of...think about how many people have gotten pregnant while they were drunk, etc., or have had drinks before they knew they were pregnant. You are not alone in that.

I would definitely discuss your feelings with your doctor, openly. I'm sure he/she will be able to reassure you.

But above all else-- congratulations! Chat Icon

Re: Worried..

DON'T WORRY!!!! I was pregnant at my wedding... not knowing...Chat Icon Chat Icon The next day was my b-day and we went out for a HUGE sushi dinner. I ate everything raw under the sun and just about drank that much too!

MANY people have been in your predicament. There's no need to worry.

You are FINE as is the baby. The minute you find out, things change and you start taking care of yourself and that's all that matters.

CONGRATS!!!!! and ENJOY and RELAX!

Firstly, Congrats!! I wouldn't worry about what you did before you found out you were pregnant...the most important thing is that as soon as you found out, be healthy....we all have dont things before we found out, and so far so good. Try to relax as much as possible and enjoy yourself. Listen to your body...

Re: Worried..

First of all, congratulations!!! Don't worry about the drinking, etc. I actually was just watching something this morning on the dos and don'ts of pregnancy and they say that a lot of moms worry about the drinks they had before they got their positives and it is fine. They even said that women who quit smoking in the first trimester usually have healthy babies.

As for the shrimp... you are allowed to have shrimp through your pregnancy in moderation. I've eaten it several times.

Good luck to you!!!

ITA. DH & I got trashed several times before we got our BFP at various parties that we attended. I was forthcoming with my Dr & she told me not to worry that none of that would have affected the baby before at least 6 weeks. Since we got our BFP at 4 weeks or so, we decided it was OK enough for implantation to take place & that it would be fine.

In the earliest stages it is completely normal to worry a lot...it is a big change & especially if you were ttc in the past you want everything to be perfect. The truth is no matter how perfect things are it is what it is at this stage.

Congrats!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I wouldn't worry about what you did before you knew you were pregnant. I drank and smoked a few days before I found out. Try to remember that most of our parents did so many things that they say we shouldn't do now when they were pregnant with us and we are all fine.

Second of all you can't change what you have done in the past when you didn't know. I would just make a pledge in the future to not do any of those things starting today. There are many people who drank or took medications they shouldn't have before finding out that they were pregnant and they had healthy babies.

Congratulations!

I've read/been told/etc. that really in the beginning the egg isn't getting the nutrition from you yet. I the 2 week wait is when it implanted, and if something was wrong, it wouldn't have implanted and or survived very long, and you would not have gotten your BFP! Now that you know, it is important to take good care of yourself, and beating yourself up and stressing over what you have done the past few weeks is not going to be helpful, or good for your baby.

And don't worry, you can eat shrimp when preggo. Relax and enjoy!
