I failed!

So I'm pretty upset right now - just really surprised - I really didn't expect to have to take the three hour test! No diabetes or GD in my family, I'm an all around healthy person, I don't eat a lot of sweets this pg at all I was a normal weight pre-pg and have gained about 15lbs thus far (I'm 25 weeks).

I took the test at 12:30 but I ate breakfast at 8am and only had eggs. I didn't eat much if any sugar the day before. What are the chances that the 1hr was wrong and the 3hr will be ok? Thanks ladies

I failed the 1 hour miserably and passed the 3 hour "with flying colors" as my doctor said.
It's really common to fail the 1 hour and pass the 3 hour - not sure why...but it seems to happen more often than not!

Also, from what I've read, GD sometimes just happens, through no fault of your own....it's all about your body and how it reacts to pregnancy - so if you do have GD, don't feel guilty!

Thank you ladies. Did you guys fast before the first one? I'm just worried because I feel like I did nothing that could have thrown off the first test. I was careful with my sugar intake the few days before as well!

I wanted to offer ...from what I have been reading here, lots of girls pass the 3 hour after failing the 1 hour. I took my test last week, and haven't heard anything...I am starting to worry that I haven't heard...when did you take the test???

I had eggs the morning of the one hour, and then I fasted for about 12 hours before the 3 hour just in case.

I know so many people who failed the 1 hour but yet know no one besides myself who had GD!! It is very common to fail the 1 hour and pass the 3 hour. Good Luck.

If it helps - I had GD with my son and expected to have it again. I failed the 1 hour (but not horribly - 143) and my dr pretty much set me up that I will have it again. Well I passed my 3 hour with flying colors - so go figure!! And to boot I ate much healthier my 1st pregnancy than this one. The day before my 3 hour - I had donuts, frozen pizza, etc (I had a bad eating day and wasn't expecting to take the 3 hour the next day) and still passed!!!!!!!!!

I totally fasted from midnight to pass it. I passed by 1 point.

maybe you didnt pass bc you ate that day? i thought you were supposed to fast for 12 hrs prior...at least thats what my dr told me.

i failed as well, but my #'s were much worse than yours...185 !!!!

im taking the 3 hr this week, but i doubt i will pass...

hopefully you will have better results with the next one!!!
