Glucose Tolerance Test
Did your dr. tell you to fast or not?
My last pg I was told to fast, but both of my girlfriends did not...

My Dr. told me I didn't have too, just don't eat anything sugary beforehand.

I was told no food after midnight. But I could eat a plain toast and drink water BEFORE you take the drink the lab gives you.
I did not eat.

My doctor didnt tell me anything. I actually asked when I was having the test and he said at my next appointment. I still have to call and schedule the appointment so I'll ask then if I have to fast or not..I vaguely remember doing so in the past.

For my one hour (I took at night) they told me to eat normally during the day then two hours before the test to fast - no food no water or fluids.
I notice that there is not a good consistancy with the directions on the test which doesn't make a lot of sense. The three hour is a fasting test though.
I would call your dr's office and ask. Mine had a sheet with directions on it that they gave me when I scheduled the test.

for the 1 hr...nothing to eat within an hour which I failed both times around
the 3 hour....fasting at midnight

My dr. didn't tell me anything, I chose to fast from the night b4 (my test was at 11 am). I also took it easy on sweets the day before.
I passed...barely (125).
