Prenatal Dr. Visit
I am 8 weeks preggo, already had a sono since I had ectopic preg a few months ago, so now i am going for my "prenatal" appt...what exactly can I expect besides paperwork...will they listen for the HB...

I don't think they can hear teh HB until at a minimum 10 weeks - my Dr. didn't try until 12 weeks...They may do another sono.

I already heard it at 7 weeks though....but through a vag, sono....what do they do to hear it at 12 weeks???

They'll use either an external doppler or an external sono with sound. Each Dr. is different, so it is hard to say exactly what will be done.

If they didn't do it already, they'll send you for bloodwork and urine tests. Answer any questions you might have, talk to you about 1st trimester screening tests like Ultrascreen.
Othewise they'll send you on your way with an appt in 1 month.

they just took a ton of blood, a urine test, discussed the ultrascreen with us and made us an appointment for a month....
i also had another sono taken but only because i was bleeding in the beginning and they were being cautious...

Yeah, I had blood and urine taken. I only had a doppler done. and she asked about family history of certain diseases and discussed the ultrascreen stuff. Next appt in 4 weeks.

ok great, i has asked att he first sono about when the next is and she said 20 weeks,...what about the ultrascreen, she didnt say anything about it....
