What to look for in a mobile?
My bedding set does not come w/ any accessories so I need to get a mobile separately. What exactly should I be looking for (besides it somewhat matching the bedding )?

I've heard great things about the Tiny Love mobiles. They stimulate the baby in all different ways, which is very good.

Re: What to look for in a mobile?
I just looked up some tiny love mobiles, and I noticed that they say 0-5m. Does that mean babies are only interested in mobiles between that age, or is there another mobile I'm supposed to get after 5 mos?!

Re: What to look for in a mobile?
After 5 months, babies tend to grab at the mobile and it could be dangerous if they pull it down -- either to hit them in the head, or choke on a piece if they put it in thier mouth.
We have 2 different baby love mobiles...the one with the light and the one without. I'd suggest the one with the light. It has nicer sounds and stays on 5 mins longer than the other one.
BTW...my babies are 6 1/2 months and they still use the mobile. They will as long as I still feel it is safe
Good luck!

THis is the one with the light -- the ad says 15 mins, but I could swear it plays for 20
Love this
This is the other one we have...DD LOVES it, but I feel guilty that DS has the one that lights up and she doesn't... Nevertheless...she LOVES it!

Babies see, and are interested in, starkly contrasting colors. Black against white and red against white really catch their eye. Even if those don't match your decor, they will probably be more interesting for your baby.

Unfortunitely the best Mobiles wont really match any type of nursery motif...Playskool used to put out this really really great one...babies loved it..parents thought it was ugly. They dont make it any more....Just find one that matches your decor and leave it at that.

Re: What to look for in a mobile?
I too endorse the Tiny Love mobiles, Noah is a big boy now and he still turns his on the minute he wakes in the night. He stands in the crib, but strangely never grabs for it! So we have kept it in. It makes a great comforting clacking noise and I think its adorable!!!

I have the basic one that came with the bedding set for my DD. It's nothing fancy just 4 butterflies that go around. She loves it and still at 8 mths is fascinated by it.
