When are you having your D & C/Hysteroscopy?
I just wanted to wish you luck.
Thanks ladies. The procedure is on Thursday morning. We have to be there at 6:15 for a 7am start time. Joy! DH is all set with his PS2. I fluctuate between being a nervous wreck and semi-calm. DH is very very calm. He is amazing and I am blessed to have him.
My ILs know and they are supportive too. MIL called me the other day to see how the pre-op testing went. It was a good feeling. Telling them wasn't easy for me, but they are family and their son is going through this with me.
My mother offered to sit with DH for "his sake/support" but it isn't open heart surgery. It is diagnostic. I promised her that he would call her as soon as he could. I appreciate her concern, but she is not a well woman and she gets very anxious. She walks with a walker and sometimes uses a wheelchair. DH shouldnt have to worry about 2 people. Heaven forbid, we should get any bad news, he shouldnt have to field questions from anyone else.
I just got an email from my brother yesterday expressing his concern and support. My sisters are supportive too but for some reason, his note hit my heart. He did not really know what to say which was so much like my Dad and I just broke down getting all teary. My father was a gentle man of few words. However, he was a lousy poker player so you always knew how he felt - especially about his family. My brother now has this trait - one that I miss so much. This prompted a major fear that if I can't have kids, then I won't be able to give my father a name in legacy. That hurt so much - as much as it hurts to think that I may not be able to give a child to DH.
I realize that there are technologies and procedures to help people like us. I also realize that people have it worse than we do. I realize that there are other ways for us to be parents. But frankly, we are nowhere near considering adoption until and unless we have exhausted every effort through medicine or surgery even if it means second or third or fourth opinions.
I also realize that I may be blowing this whole thing out of proportion and everything can be just fine. But I need to get through things step by step. My heartache is my heartache and I am beyond the "just relax" and the "it will all work out" phase of this.
I am so sorry for the rantings and ramblings of a crazy person. I am not going to lie. I am scared. But I have to do this for my family. There are no choices.
Thanks again. You are all amazing!

I know what makes my man happy. Actually, the PSP is very mind numbing, requiring focus and if it keeps him from getting nervous, I am all for it.

Re: Leslie....
Thanks everyone. I just called to confirm the procedure and I am good to go.
Lets talk irony for a minute here. I got a positive on my OPK today, my CM is more apparent then usual and I feel crampy. When Dr. R. is in there, he should see one hell of a "Fertile Myrtle." I almost wish as if he could "deposit" a little happiness from DH while he is in there though I know it isnt possible.

I wish he could, too. Why not? He's already in there!! Might as well put the instruments to good use. All he needs is a specimen and a turkey baster, and you're all set!
