boring topic but need help... washing the walls...

my apt walls are off white. they are kind of dirty and I am trying to clean them.. however they look streeaky now and look worse then they did before. I am not painting anytime soon..

what do you use to clean your walls??? cleaner and material (sponge, etc?)

I remember doing this as a kid with my dad...we used either 409 or fantastic.

Try the magic eraser.

Or a little Oxy clean spray.

Just be careful if you have flat paint. I used the Magic Eraser on paint that was flat finish (as opposed to eggshell etc) and it took the paint right off the wall along with the dirt! Chat Icon

A lot of flat paints are now scrubable so it might not even be an issue but you do have to watch

i also vouch for the magic eraser! we are getting ready to sell our house, and i just did this to the white walls to just get finger prints and schmutz off of them... it worked GREAT! it looks like a new coat of paint Chat Icon just be careful on colored paints though... i hear it can take the paint off...

my walls are off white also and i use the magic eraser for most of the marks and it works great!

I use either the magic eraser or Ajax on a sponge (doesn't leave a film or scratch the paint)
