DH's at baby showers??
What do you think about my DH going to my baby shower with me? My MIL is hosting the one in NJ and many of the people invited are wives of DH's friends who I don't know that well. I would feel sooo much more comfortable with him there. He's the type to get involved and not just sit in the corner....is it totally taboo to have him there?

I say go for it. Anything goes these days, and especially if they're friends of his (or their wives at least), I think it makes sense. If he'll go, I would say it would be great to have him there!

I think it is fine. I was at a shower with the husband there, they actually invited the husbands and wives and it was fun!

my DH stayed with the entire time...
i think it might depend on his personality... DH is a ham and can talk to anyone.. he enjoyed it... we're glad he was there to see everything and help with the big gifts... he enjoyed himself too!!

if he'll go - do it. the baby is both of yours so why not?? the last baby shower i went to the father and her brother sat in the front area - near the bar of the restaurant and just came in periodically and then to help bring home the gifts

i definitely dont see anything wrong with it!! all the stuff you get is for his baby too! my shower is not coed, but i am having a table for dh, our dads and my brothers...this way DH wont get too bored!

my shower is not coed, but my dh, 2 brothers and dad will be there. my brother is more excited than dh!! he keeps talking about the shower!!

My DH would kill me if I made him stay throughout the shower - he will be down in the "Men's Grill  " with my dad, my dad's friends, and my DH's brother - probably playing poker or golf or something like that.

Actually, a Jack and Jill is a co-ed shower.
My DH is driving me out to LI (since we live on SI) and then he, my dad, my uncle, my cousin's DH, my other cousin's boyfried and my little cousin are all going to Dave and Buster's. I think it is a cute idea.

Taboo in our family. The men all ran to his family's mountain house and did lots of drinking as fast as they could at my shower.

my cousin wife just had one where he walked her in, etc, then the guys came 2 hours later and they had like a party- IMO it was the funnest baby shower ive been to lolol
i would def like a co-ed baby shower.

I think it's fine if your DH is at the shower - especially considering that he'll know so many of the people present. If I were in a similar situation, I'd ask my DH to stay.
