ME ME ME ME!!!!
I ate a ton of bad food, just a ton of food period with DD and gained 50+ lbs, I expected that...
With this pg, i eat like i normally do, just with an extra snack=like granola bar, yogurt etc. and I gained EXACTLY the same weight at the SAME point in my pg as I did with DD.
Ticks me off I tell you!! I might as well eat french fries and fried chicken instead of salad!

My friend always says: it's not the quantity but the quality of food that counts.
I'm 18wks & I've gained about 7lbs so far. I am definitely eating more but I eat very healthy.
You're growing a baby inside you so you will gain weight even if you don't increase your caloric intake

i have my next 4 week appt. next week and i'm dreading it because i don't want to get weighed  I was just weighed 2 weeks ago !!!

You have to look at your weight gain differently now that you're pg or you will always be disappointed. Maybe read some books on pg & changing body image
If it will make you feel better, asked to be weighed with your back to the scale & tell the nurse not to tell you your weight. Try not to fixate on it

I gained 5lbs and I feel like I am eating a little more, but so far I think I've only gained in my bbs & belly, my legs and arms look the same to me.
Also, I definitely notice that if I eat junk I'll be up a pound and then lose it in the next day or two. Quality of the food definitely matters.

I always weigh myself after I go to the doctor because depending on the time of day..that scale LIES!!! LOL! I weigh myself first thing in the morning..and let me tell you it was 4lbs off from what they said I was. So I defenitely felt alot better.

me too...i eat healthy overall, just more and i def indulged Easter weekend, candy, dessert, etc... I unfortunately am a fixator - i guess i'll feel better once the belly is really showing and i don't just look chubby. The quality has to count for something because i didn't use to eat this much fruit and fruit does have calories

Oh yes! I am 36w 2d and as of last appt (4/6) I've gained 42 lbs. I have had my moments of eating more than usual, but overall diet has remained the same.

I eat healthy always and that's when I can eat! I'm usually miserable with m/s. I gained 3 1/2 lb. so far. I asked the nurse not to tell me my weight because it had already gone up BEFORE we got PG and the stupid idiot nurse at the front desk the other day blurted it out not only to me but in front of my DH and two other patients. I have never been so mortified or upset in my life.

What are you talking about? There are no rules as to when you are "supposed" to gain weight. As long as you are being proactive & eating healthy, your body is going to do what it's going to do.
I'm not trying to call youout or be rude, but you can't be so hard on youself.
BTW, my pants have been snug since I was 9 wks.

I am 9 weeks and going to get maternity pants this weekend...my regular pants are so tight that they are uncomfortable...I don't really care what the books say I should be doing or weighing or looking like right now....

Don't forget water retention and your blood supply is almost doubling!!!
Just by drinking water you can gain weight - add salt to it - you will retain more!!!
Your body is definitely using more of the food that you do eat.

Do NOT listen to the What to Expect book! I was wearing maternity pants by week 9 because they were comfy and I had a small belly already. I have LOST weight since getting pregnant. I am down almost 10 lbs and in week 16. I have a notieable rounded belly since week 9. As long as your doctor is not worried, then you shouldn't be either. You are gaining weight for good reason! Don't stress about this

I gain 10lbs the minute I get pregnant..dont know why..I guess its just fluid and boobs...did that this time too...
Aside from that I have gained about 5 lbs, as of last monday. I can honestly say that I eat A LOT less than I ever did....Im not trying to eat less its just that in the beginning everything upset my stomach and now my stomach doesnt hold very much....
I always gained a ton of weight and then took it off right away..Im wondering now what the final tally will be at the end...

I'm not eating more either & I now weigh what I started out as.
I had lost 2lbs and now gained it back. I'm 13w4d and my pants are too small. They still fit (I can still button) but my belly is def. bigger even thou I'm the same weight I always was.

Up until my 12 week visit I did not gain a pound which I thought was very strange since due to m/s I was eating bad like I NEVER did before - pizza, bagels, crackers etc.
THEN, since then I've gained about 10lbs (I am now just about 20 weeks). I do not eat a lot and I eat SOOOOOO healthy - i haven't had pizza in weeks, lol. I also try to exercise when I can. the funny thing is most of the time i am worried and others are telling me I am not eating enough YET the scale keeps going up
My point is - I don't care what anyone or any book says - its genetics or whatever - some people gain more than others no matter how good they are!

Not yet...I am almost 14 weeks and lost a few lbs. My regular clothes still fit fine, but I have some maternity stuff on standby just in case I wake up one day and my pants don;t fit!
