Another "I can't believe she said that!"
MIL says to me today (now mind you, I am 18 weeks pregnant with my THIRD baby)...
I showed her a dress that I bought for a shower I am attending April 28th... She looks at it and says,
"Its a nice dress, but why did you get maternity? You could probably just have gotten one thats a few sizes too big, I mean, you do not look pregnant, you just look HEAVY"
Let me add that I am 5'6" tall... pre-pg weight is 155, and I am only 162 now at 18 weeks.
What is WRONG with people???

OMG!!!!!!!!! The nerve!!!!!! Some people  I got mad just reading your post!
I would have said - i bought a maternity dress because I am NOT HEAVY I am almost five months PREGNANT!

LOL....
You and I are about the same "weight & size" wise..Im a little taller and weigh about 5 LBS more...
I recently had a similar conversation with a neighbor of mine...
She asked me why any one would insist on wearing maternity when they could just get away with buying things "a few sizes bigger"
I felt the need to point out to her that after 3 pregnancies..this being my 4th Ive found that maternity clothes actually make you look a lot better...Besides either way I wouldnt be able to wear the clothes after I gave birth anyway!!!!

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could get away with smacking people upside the head for insensitive comments? I had so many more while dealing with INF issues and now that we are pg, they just keep on coming.
