you know that the Downy (or any fabric softener) decreases the absorption of your towels, right?

I thought it was common knowledge. 
Just google "fabric softener towels".
Basically, the petroleum/silicone products in the fabric softener coat the fibers so that they can't absorb water.

I use Tide Simple pleasures Vanilla/lavendar. It smells sooo good!
Definitely my favorite, I also use the fabric softener

Yes! I never use fabric softener on my towels.
My favorite detergent is Method "fresh air".
