What about using the ribbon as the butterflies head and the tails of the ribbon as the start of it's body... then you could incorporate the coordinating colors into the wings also. HTH! I'm a painter, not a drawer- sorry...

No suggestions - but what a beautiful idea!
I have a friend who survived a serious head injury where she cracked her skull open and was in a coma... it took her a long time to recover, but she is ok now...
she got an awesome tattoo on her shoulder recently of a skull with a crack in it - morbid sounding, I know, but it represented her survival and she loves it. I think tats like that are a beautiful way to symbolize survival!
