Re: decaf tea

Totally - just be careful of some herbal teas - check with your dr. as there are some herbs you should not be consuming....

Re: decaf tea

As far as I have read, decaf tea does not change the properties of water, so it can be considered the same as drinking water. Feel better!

Re: decaf tea

I would def drink it - but I wouldn't drink too much- b.c decaf tea has a little caffeine in it. Can you alternate between that and say hot lemonade?

Re: decaf tea

There is 5mg of caffeine in decaf tea compared to 40 in regular.

I drink a cup every single am. Decaf is just like water. I was told up to 300 grams of caffeine a day is safe for a pg woman. So 5mg a day is all the caffeine you have you are okayChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Just be careful with the herbal teas.

Re: decaf tea

I love tea and drank a lot of it at one point in the pregnancy, but right now it just causes heartburn...

Re: decaf tea

Yes, but nothing with Echinacea, golden seal root, raspberry leaf, zinc,or Chamomile. There is a whole list of herbal teas to stay away from - lemme see if I can find the old thread.

Re: decaf tea

just to follow up on red raspberry tea this is what I found:

There are a number of teas labeled as “Pregnancy Teas”, or herbs such as red raspberry leaf that are in teas, that are considered to be good for pregnancy. Many midwives and professionals who work with herbs believe that the regular consumption of these teas may help prevent pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia, preterm labor, prolonged labors, and postpartum hemorrhage.

Not raspberry, raspberry leaf. Raspberry essence is OK. There is something in the leaf extract though that is not.

Lemme try to find that thread,.....

OOH I saw you found the info.

Re: decaf tea

I've been drinking decaf lipton and regular Earl Grey at work for the past few weeks. I only have 1 cup so I'm not going to drive myself crazy over this since I don't drink coffee.

Re: decaf tea

When I was sick, I was drinking decaf tea, or just hot water with lemon in it.
