Re: Epidural

I was petrified. I would say it's probably one of the most common fears.

If you are sure you don't want the epidural, I would suggest looking into natural childbirth classes. I found them very helpful for both of my deliveries.

I felt the same way. They actually numb the area first so it isn't that bad. Also at that point I just wanted relief so I was happy to have it.

Try not to worry to much you will be ok! Chat Icon

Re: Epidural

Like all other BTDT moms say- once in labor- the stick from the Epi needle just isn't a big deal.
Keep in mind, when you are in labor- you're already experiencing the pain of contractions- so the epi is just a teeny tiny pain on top of the bigger contraction pains.... more of a bee sting when compared to the contractions

I was going to try & go pain med free- but I just couldn't do it..the contractions were WAY more intense than I imagined... and thinking "this is pain with a purpose" like the lamaze instructor suggested didn't make the paiin any less painful..

I am more nervous about pushing a child with a freakishly large head out of my vajayjay than a needle!Chat Icon

Me too! Plus the needle is behind and I hope that I won't see it.
