Spotting
Okay..so yesterday I was on cloud 9 after I got my digital. I tried not to be because of our situation (we have had chemicals every month since december and as I posted, the Dr. has said we'll just "wait it out. Not much we can do") I really thought this one was going to go my way because my AF is late this time and I feel physically better then I did when I was PG chemicals. Now all the sudden this morning when I went to the bathroom there was brown, mucusy kind of blood (sorry, TMI). I am kind of panicking and it's a Sunday..there is no one to call. I dont want to go through this again and I don't want DH to go through it..he was soooo excited and kept saying "I have a good feeling about this one!" I don't know how much my heart can handle. Please tell me this is normal?! If we go through this one more time I swear I am done. This isn't fair for anyone to go through on a consistant basis. Should I take another PG test. Sorry, I just don't want to cry and just want this to be okay.

Re: Spotting
First of all, I want to say I am sorry about your many losses. This happened to me in October, and it still hurts when I think about it. Second, I want to say that many girls do spot in the beginning, or all along their pregnancies. If you test again and you see the lines getting lighter or the digital saying "not pregnant" it will tell you if you are having another chemical. It could be torture to retest, but it could also be torture to wonder. I wish you all the best, and I am here if you need to talk.

Re: Spotting
You said it was brown...from what I've heard, typically, as long as it isn't red, there is little to worry over. Try to stay positive...and yes, some girls seem to spot early on or throughout their pregnancies. It isn't considered "normal" really which is why there is often panic, but for some it's just what their bodies do.

You can call your OB/GYN even though its Sunday, there should be a doctor on call who will speak with you.

Re: Spotting
Thanks girls..I am trying so hard to be optimistic..but I think because of my past I am fearing the worst. I moved to FL in July and things are so different down here...I don't think they have a Dr. on call, but I will try. Do you think I should take another test to see if I am losing it or that would just be too hard?

honey, if they had drs. on call in NC, they have them in FL. actually, drs. have to be available in some fashion no matter what b/c they are responsible for you care! [even if you get a nurse first/only....at 2am when in labor, we called the number and got the nurse. all i could think was, this poor woman has to wake up at 2am just to tell me "go to the hospital and try to calm down."]
just call...at the least you get a nurse and they will tell you how worried to be.

I was going to say the same.
Please try to get in touch with someone. I have heard that some spotting may be normal, especially if it is dark in color.

I am sorry for the losses. It is common to have spotting, I was spotting around week 11. Just call the dr if worried, that is what they are there for.

Re: Spotting
Well she called back basically saying it's too early and they can't see anything or do anything. I hate having not control over this :(
As for the spotting, it seems to have stopped, but I can't help running to the bathroom every 1/2 hr to check!
I want to be good and just stop thinking about it- but that's really hard!
I just want to thank you all again for your prayers and advice. When I showed DH he was amazed. we appreciate it. I truly hope everything is going to be okay and I will be able to experience a lot more GOOD pregnancy things with all of you.

Re: Spotting
Spotting is normal. I had brown spotting from week 4 everyday through week 8. Make sure you tell the Dr., but it could definitely be implantation.

Re: Spotting
I haven't formally introduced myself here yet but I am 4w4days today. I did IVF and got a BFP a few days after transfer. Last sunday I started spotting pink and then brown for the 3 days after. I called the dr. and they said it's totally normal. I wouldn't worry. Sending your way.

Re: Spotting
i am just entering my 6th week and have known for about 2 weeks now that i was preggo--- right after my BFP - rigth around the time that i normally would have gotten my AF -= i had three days of very light brown spotting... evrything i read said that is very normal and happens to a lot of ladies..... after that it went away and everything is fine..
brown blood is old blood and is usually ok... when it is red and accompanied with cramping it is something to worry about!!
good luck and sticky vibes to you!

i agree with christy, spotting is very common early on. it may still be implantation spotting. i would think about testing again, but i would also call the doc's office - there has to be someone on call for the practice.

Re: Spotting
Well I haven't been spotting- so I took a digital for my sanity- however...it worked against me and came back "not pregnant". Now the urine was VERY light...but regardless, If I was this far along shouldn't it come up pregnant anytime of the day?
I'm like growing numb towards this whole thing. I almost always know to just expect disapointment. I am calling a specialist tomorrow.

Re: Spotting
I'm so sorry you have to deal with this.
I'd say, don't panic yet. I had spotting for two weeks and thought for sure that this was leading to another miscarriage (I've had two already.) But guess what, still pregnant at 16 weeks.
Hope it all works out. Good luck.

Re: Spotting
At 5 weeks they could do a sono but it would only show the sac & not much else. They can however, do a blood test & then do another a few days later to see if the numbers are increasing/doubling as they should.
Spotting is very common in PG, and for many reasons, but really only a Dr. can tell you what is the cause of yours. (I had spotting through my entire first trimester & at my Level II we found out it was due to my placenta. I also had a cyst rupture that caused bleeding as well, so there really are many causes).
I know it is hard to not stress, especially when you have experienced a loss but try to maybe get a Dr or nurse to see you & take a blood test, just so you know.
Good Luck
