Having a semi-bad night (long)

I honestly feel like I have been ok dealing with all the Nausea and vommiting and making it this far with a semi clear head and not being completly crazy after 6 plus months of this.....

Well Im losing it .Chat Icon

Tonight is bad and I barely eat anything at all anymore, and I just want to scream, please stop... The nausea after I eat literally makes me feel like the room is spinning.

And whats rough, is DH doesnt get it, my mom, my family. They dont understand although Im trying to make them.

DH is always on my asss to eat, eat eat and He doesnt understand that I CANT. Im trying so hard ... And I feel like he has yet to say in all these months...that Im doing a good job, that hes proud of me ...anything.

He really gets worried and tries to help but it feels like lecturing to me.

Im TERRIFIED that something is gonna be wrong with the baby and Im gonna be blamed for not eating enough of this or that( vitmain etc wise)

My mom and family..they talk to me about food and get mad when I cant listen to it anymore.

And its like they dont believe me when they say " have you tried Saltines?"...Obviously..... Im 27 weeks pregnant, I have tried it ALL.

They tell me literally to "try not to think about it"....Chat Icon Chat Icon or say things like "I guess other people just deal with it" ....as if Im not when I finally do complain.

Im sorry , Im just venting and I really needed to get it out and not yell or scream.

Thanks for listening

I'm sorry Donna.

What you are going through is hard enough without feeling pressure or lack of support from your family.

Re: Having a semi-bad night (long)

Donna,

I am so sorry that you are having such a hard time. I can only imagine what you feel like. Have you gone on to the Zofran pump yet? (I remember you saying that was an option)

I hate puking! But one of the strange things that has helped me is Wonton soup broth. I don't know why but it does. Another friend of mine who had wicked m/s sucked on anything sour. That seemed to help her (lemoheads, sour balls etc. ) I know Chinese ladies who have bad m/s eat these sour plums with a bit of salt on them (learned this trick from the receptionist at my RE)

I know it is hard. I just want to wish you the best of luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Having a semi-bad night (long)

Aww Chat Icon at 20 weeks today and still vomiting I am right behind you. If your DH won't tell you he is proud of you, please let me. I am really proud of you. It is exceptionally hard. The morning sickness, all day nausea, heartburn, swelling, all of it, is a lot to deal with. Have you asked your dr if you need to be on an iv or have bed rest? The things that sort of work for me are gingermen cookies, lemon aid or lemon in water, lots of water, resting, and those sea bands. Although I still get sick almost daily, I definitely feel better when I lie down. And please let me say it again I am really proud of you!!!!

P.S. My family still says the same things...like oh you will be fine, haven't you stopped yet?? I want to scream too.

No...The company my high risk Dr. uses was not approved by the insurance to get it...so I had to do some research on my own and found another company that does it and left message with my Dr.'s office today and I hope that they act on it.

I think thats what set me off. I was kinda using the pump as a releif method coming to me, and hearing it may not just really got me depressed.

Donna honestly after all you've been through, my heart breaks for you that you are having such an incredibly rough time. ANd I know how you feel - beacuse you are so grateful to BE pg, you don't want to complain...but girl you need to be given a break already!!

I am sorry DH and family don't seem to understand -- but do not let that bring you down. You know you have a lot of friends who, although we can't make you better, we are here for support and whatever you need. If I could get you that pump myself I would!! Shoot I can even try telling my OB that I am sick - ha who am I kidding? My insurance suxs...

Aww Donna! You KNOW I understand and how hard it is when people try to give suggestions (yes, I know people are trying to help) when I was about as preggo as you, I was vomitting on the bus and this lady was insisting on talking to me and saying "It will get better in the second trimester" Thanks lady, I'm in my THIRD!Chat Icon

No one understands at my house either. And I KNOW you want to just be able to eat like a normal preggo.

But you are doing SOO good. I know you feel like poop, but rememember, Noah is doing well (and yes, we are SO holding it over their heads!) and as much as it would be awesome if you BOTH felt good, at least he is doing well.

I am glad you did some research on the pump and I am hoping that you can get it and it will help.

I am so proud of you and you are ALMOST there! Anytime you want to talk, you know I will be thereChat Icon Chat Icon

You know that you are doing everything you can to make sure the baby is healthy & you are in constant contact with your Dr. There is no more that you could be doing.

Just to add my own expereince, when I was having bleeding issues in the early 1st tri I was not allowed to stand for more than 10 min, lift, bend or pull. So I went to Thanksgiving dinner & we told the family. Then DH explained to his Aunt that I could not help with dinner to the extent I normally do & explained why. She actually told me to "Get over it & get used to it...I had to prepare 3 holiday meals for 20 people when I was in my 3rd trimester." Um ok superwoman, thanks for the dinner & the disChat Icon

I'm so sorry you are going thru this - i remember when I went thru this in the beginning and DH was forcing me to eat - he realized he made a big mistake when I can no longer look at the food that I used to like that he tried to get me to eat - still!

Hopefully this will all be over soon!

I'm sorry. Can you let them know they are not helping you and causing you additional stress by worrying you. Be sure to take your vitamin supplement. As long as your doc says you're ok and the baby is growing I'm sure it will be fine. i don't know what other advice to offer?

Men don't get it. I hope this helps!

first of all, i think you should smack anyone who asks you if you have ever "tried saltines" Chat Icon Chat Icon

seriously... i am SO incredibly sorry that you are suffering so much for so long. i cannot even imagine what it would be like to still feel sick months from now.

it's tough not feeling validated by DH and your family - it sounds like they totally mean well, but their behavior just isn't cutting it as far as making you feel understood. although it's obviously no substitute, for what it's worth - i think you have been doing an unbelievable job in getting through this! not only have you been fighting to help yourself, but you have also gone out of your way to help other people who are going through severe m/s, myself included.

and even if DH/ family aren't telling you they're proud of you, i hope that you are proud of yourself, because i think you have every right to be.

your baby is getting everything he needs nutritionally from your body. i am SURE he will be a beautiful, healthy, baby boy!!! just keep on doing what you're doing. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Donna,
I am sorry to hear you are getting to that point. I go therre many times and come back but its harder each step. Kuddos for you for making it to 27 weeks.
I pray for you to get the Zofran pump. Is there a way you can take Zofran by mouth more often to compensate????

Re: Having a semi-bad night (long)

donna-i'm just seeing this now. i'm sorry you had such a bad night.

i have no advice about m/s, but i do know that you are one of the strongest, bravest, most insightful pregnant woman i know. no one goes through your painful history, difficult journey to get pregnant and most annoying ms/ in history to not be recognized as the super woman you are!! i'm sorry you don't feel that from your family, i will be glad to remind you whenever you want!!

i'm sure that noah is happy and healthy. my doctor said that babies are like parasites and take what they need!! take reassurance in the close monitoring you are getting at madonna too. i'm sure if they were concerned they would have told you.

so much love and good vibes sent your way.
