Not again...

Just wanted your opinion, please...

Okay..so I am about 2 days lates. I took a regular pg test and the line was clear as day! I took two digitals..both said negative. Now DH and I are about to rip out our hair because every month we get a positive and then I get AF- so I am so afraid that those negative digitals mean it's going to be a chemical again. My Dr. keeps saying we need to leave things to "faith" and I want answers. I am really hoping its our time...but being I am already late and I have negative digitals I am just not so sure.

I feel like I always come on here to get opinions, and I apologize, just know I am always "lurking", and wish the best for everyone. Sometimes our predicament just makes it so hard for me :(

Re: Not again...

My only advise would be to wait longer before you test. That way you would not have to go through the false hope.

There was an article about that. With the HPK people find out sooner but in the "old days" people did not have the OPK and did not find out right away so if it did not "sticked" they would not know they had a chemical pregnancy.

Good Luck!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Not again...

For me the digital came up pregnant the day after I got a positive on a regular test. I think digitals take longer. Good luck!Chat Icon

As far as why you are getting positives then negatives, maybe the "line no line" tests have a lower threshhold for the hormone than the digital (more sensitive). As for the Doctor's statement, although I can appreciate things coming in their own time (took us 7 years), I am not sure that is the answer I would want from a medical professional, especially when you are asking for a specific answer as to why you are experiencing this. Let your Dr know that you want to discuss the MEDICAL reasons why the tests are reacting the way they are, and if you have a propensity to have chemical PGs & if so why & what can be done about it. If you do not find satisfaction, then I'd seek another Dr or a RE.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I agree - I am not a big fan of those really early tests for those reasons - i see so many women going thru needless heartache... I have been a few days late in the past, and have gotten heavier AF as a result - who knows what that would have meant if I tested early, but I have only tested when I was a week late....

I agree you should use a regular HPT and test when you are at least a week late - this lets you know at a more accurate time whats going on with your body....

good luck to you! Chat Icon

Re: Not again...UPDATE

Well I did it..I called another Dr. They won't see me untile April 9th. But on the upside, I did take another (NON digital) test and it was positive...so I am starting to be slightly optimistic and praying (SO MUCH) that the digitals were not sensitive enough. What do you girls honestly think? Another chemical or just the digital wasnt sensitive enough?

Re: Not again...

It should say somewhere on both packages what the minimum hormone level requried is for a positive result. I'd check them out.

I hope all turns out wellChat Icon

Re: Not again...

i think you should safe yourself a little grief and avoid the digital for now. I didn't use them until i had already taken like 5 regular tests. (a week after AF was due just because i wanted to see the word "pregnant"). I liked the EPT brand best (i got a darker line on that one than the FRER - the same day). Stay calm and take it easy. Use FMU to test. Chat Icon Chat Icon
