What is a Level II???
I assumed it was the ultrasound you got in your second trimester to figure out the sex. I heard it takes a long time because all the organs are checked. When I scheduled mine today, they scheduled the doctor just 30 minutes later. I asked if I was having a level II because I heard it took longer. She said no. I said 'what's a level II then'? She said 'I don't know'. The receptionist is soooo helpful.

Re: What is a Level II???
Its an Ultrasound where they take all the measurements and take a good look at the heart, kidneys etc..It usually only takes about 30 minutes.
My doctor doesnt do the Level II in his office but sends you to Huntington Hospitals Womens Center. When I was there for the Ultrascreen I heard them talking to another women regarding the duration of the Level II.

Re: What is a Level II???
You may not get a "level II". I didn't. We got an anatomy scan and they showed us all of the baby's organs and told us that he was a boy and it only took about a half hour.
I have referred to it as a level II on here b/c that is the term that everyone uses here. I could be wrong, but a true "level II" sono may include a few more factors than a lot of us get.

Re: What is a Level II???
Our 20 wk was a "level 2" but they don't call it that. Also our dr. didn't do it, but a lab tech who just does sonograms. It took about 20 minutes or so. She checked the size of all baby's organs & told us the sex.
