Granite colors
I'm thinking of getting granite in my kitchen and I'm in need of a little insipiration as I am completely confused with the vast selection. So if you don't mind showing off your kitchen please post pics with the name of your granite color.
TIA

Re: Granite colors
I have Black Galaxy. I dont have a pic handy but I know a few people here have it so I'm sure someone will post one. It is gorgeous BUT...it shows fingerprints like crazy. I've gotten comfortable with it and wipe it down often which isnt a bad thing I guess except that you have to do it. I'm not a slave to it like I was in the beginning but like I said, I wipe it down often.
ETA: I see Black Galaxy pics were posted while I was typing

Re: Granite colors
We had the same granite in our old house. I loved it but it really did show finger prints like crazy.

Thanks.
So far no problems with finger prints. I'm pretty on top of my counters and appliances and use Glass Plus on them every night. I don't mind it.

I like the look of Black granite but hubby doesn't. I think we want to go with more neutral earth tones.
I know many of you have amazing kitchens.
Does anyone have a color they can recommend besides black?

We have a Corian Evergreen countertop with a matching blacksplash. It is a very earthy color.

Re: Granite colors
We have a pinkish color with black, grey and white specs throughout. I wanted something to brighten up my downstairs -- there's a lot of wood. Cherry cabinets and an open floor plan into the living room, which has a wood ceiling.

Re: Granite colors
We really loved this one really earthy granite our kitchen place had displayed in the store but when we looked at slabs at like 3 different places - the color was sooo different. It was so weird - in one place it was pink and 2 other places were gray - in the story it was sandy/earthy!! We wound up going a little crazier in our choice (we typically liked simplier patterns) than we planned but in end I really like our granite.
Here is our work in progress kitchen. It is Giallo Ornamental. It is brown, beige with flecks of gold.
The most closeup picture I have uploaded.

Re: Granite colors
Ours is called uba tuba
I tried to get close ups of it
The streak on the bottom is from the flash, not on the granite.

Re: Granite colors
My favorite granite is a Honed Black - I prefer it to the shiny granite b/c it looks more like a slate or concrete (which is a look I prefer).

Re: Granite colors
We have blue pearl. It's grey with flecks of blue and white. I love it!
Also check out ceasar stone counter tops (about the same price / quality as granite) they have a white color and tan color (we have the tan in our bathroom) that I love! Both would look great with dark color cabinets.

I used the same granite on the floors as the countertop. It is ivory with shades of rustish brown.

Wow, I need to take new pictures of the kitchen! These were taken right after it was finished...we've added artwork and more! Anyway, ours is Golden Crystal, an exotic Brazilian:
