What would you do?

I am 32w 2d and for the past 3-4 days the gum above one of my teeth has been swollen and a little tender. It's bearable and DH thinks I just have food stuck up there. I am being good by not poking in and rinseing at least 2-3 times/day with Listerine. Now, I am on the fence about going to the dentist. Should I just go and hope it's "nothing" major?? My biggest reason for procrastinating is my shower is on Sunday and I don't want them to poke and prod my gum and I walk in to my shower w/ a swollen gum! TIA

I would go to the dentist if you can just to make sure it's not infected. You would NOT want it to be something worse. If anything, it'll be swollen today but go down by Sunday Chat Icon

In my experience with this... every time I have a swollen gum (and it's been happening frequently since PG) I rinse with VERY salty warm water. Do that a few times a day and it ALWAYS works for me. In about a day... all gone! Chat Icon

I have an appt on Saturday at 8am--that's the first available. But, a co-worker suggested the warm salt water rinse also. I am going to do that tonight and tomorrow. If it's better I will cancel the appt!

Thank you ladies!!

oh just saw this - in the end I think you made the right decision to check it out...but I am sending good wishes your way that it goes away by Saturday morning so it won't be an issue for the shower. Chat Icon Chat Icon
