Any suggestions for a preggo
on a cruise. I'm going on one in about 2 weeks. I didn't realize that it was only past a certain number of weeks that you couldn't go on a cruise. I was delighted to find out I could. Does anyone think I should be worried about anything? Boat sickness? I'm going to try to stay out of the sun.

Re: Any suggestions for a preggo
My sil went on a cruise when she was PG (not sure how many weeks she was), she said she was more sensitive to the ship's motion. She did wear extra SPF sunscreen, just as a general rule. She did gain about 8-10 lbs b/c it's like a food free-for-all. She was bummed though that she couldn't drink.
Have fun!!

Re: Any suggestions for a preggo
I'm going on a cruise this week, and when I'm 27 weeks. I don't want to chance getting sick so I got sea bands to wear on my wrists. I will be wearing SPF 45 and hopefully working out in the gym daily, and drinking tons and tons of water. Have fun!

Re: Any suggestions for a preggo
I went on a cruise out of San Juan right after thanksgiving when I was about 9-10 weeks. DH and I had a fabulous time. I still had a slight amount of heartburn/morning sickness - and food aversions but nothing to keep me from having a good time.
I only got sick on the plane rides - I had no problems on the cruise (which was really calm until the last two nights and last day) we went on the crown princess. Ask your doctor what you can take if you get motion sickness and bring lot of tums, and motion bands just in case you need them.
I went on catamaran/snorkling tours on all the islands - I used 50 sunscreen and for once in my life didn't burn (but I understand for most others they are more sensative).
Make sure when you go on the islands to bring two large bottles of water so you are fully hydrated as you will need it in the sun.
The cruises can make almost any frozen drink virgin so I could still relax and not have to drink only soda.
Have an amazing trip!

Please double and triple-check with your cruiseline that you won't be too far along to board. We were on the Diamond Princess last month and a woman was denied boarding. It got very heated, and the couple got very upset, but Princess just pulled out the contract they signed and denied her boarding.
For Princess you must still be in your second trimester at the end of the cruise. For Carnival and Celebrity, you can't have entered the 27th week.
