Re: homeowners insurance
We're with Hanover. What you pay really depends on so many factors. You can't compare. It's based on location, coverage, value & sq ft, etc.
Usually if you switch, the new ins co will send LPR - Loss Policy Release statements to the old carrier to cancel the policy as it's been replaced.

Re: homeowners insurance
We pay $1500 a yr with Hanover. It would be so much more but we have some credits.
I think they are very expensive though. I am looking to switch.

For Hanover I went through the place I work so I can get the commission.
For State Farm you should speak to one of their agents - I recommend you FM Smileyd17 - she works for State Farm and has helped several on LIF.

Re: homeowners insurance
we are closing on our house on 4/15 - and i called around and the best quote i got was from state farm and thast was $951/year.
they were alot cheaper than the others i called - a word of advice when searching for homeowners - call the local office to get a rate - not the national one.... the local rates give you better rates since they are more familiar with the areas....

Definitely! DH got a quote yesterday from our local Allstate agent (we're in Rockland County so they are still writing new policies there) and then he checked online for different quotes and someone from Allstate called him and wanted $200 more
